Whether you are new to journaling or already have an established journal practice, this 30-day journal challenge is designed to help you unlock layers of your authentic self whilst inspiring creativity, motivation, self-love and having fun!

 

What is a journal challenge?

 

A journal challenge is a daily practice that encourages self-reflection, personal growth and self-exploration. It is an activity anyone can participate in.

Journal challenges involve a set period, such as 30 days, and each day focuses on a unique journal prompt.

This daily ritual is not only an opportunity to delve into self-discovery but also makes an excellent self-care practice, which assists you in building the habit of journaling regularly.

 

All you need is a pen, paper and a space where you feel relaxed and ready to write.

 

Journal Challenge Tips

 

1. Make a ritual out of it – Create a daily ritual around answering your daily prompt, whatever that looks like to you. Feel free to incorporate the senses for a deeper relaxing experience, such as lighting a scented candle and getting cosy with a drink of your choice.

2. Choose a relaxing environment – Pick a space to write where you are unlikely to be disturbed and will feel comfortable.

3. Write freely – Allow your writing to flow freely, write whatever comes to mind and try to avoid censoring your words. Don’t feel like you need correct grammar or perfect handwriting, either – let yourself write freely!

4. Make it your own – Get as creative as you’d like when embarking on this journal challenge. You don’t just have to write sentences, you can incorporate illustrations, colour coding, mind maps and the use of bullet points too. Use whatever stationary you have, whether it’s a go-to simple black pen or colourful markers. It’s all about your unique expression!

Day 1: What are your favourite self-care rituals?

Day 2: If you were granted one magical wish, what would it be?

Day 3: What is your favourite song? What do you like about it?

Day 4: List 5 of your favourite things.

Day 5: Write a diary entry describing a day in your dream life.

Day 6: If you could have one magical power, what would it be?

Day 7: Who do you admire the most and why? Do you see aspects of yourself reflected in this person?

Day 8: How is your life different to 1 year ago? Explore your thoughts and feelings on this.

Day 9: What limiting belief is holding you back? What do you think contributed to this limiting belief you are holding? How can you begin releasing this belief?

Day 10: Reflect on the last time you felt jealousy. What feelings were underlying this jealousy? What does this teach you about yourself?

Day 11: What challenge have you recently overcome? What did you learn from this? How do you feel in hindsight?

Day 12: List 5 lessons your past has taught you.

Day 13: What traits do you dislike in others? Are these reflecting traits you have? What can you learn from this reflection moving forward?

Day 14: What is your definition of success?

Day 15: If you were to dedicate your life to a cause, what would it be?

Day 16: List 5 things you love about yourself.

Day 17: List 3 qualities you admire in others that you also see in yourself.

Day 18: How can you practice more self-love?

Day 19: In what ways has your confidence improved?

Day 20: Create a solo date/self-care activity bucket list.

Day 21: List your core values.

Day 22: If you could swap lives with any person for a day (whether they are alive, have passed on or are a fictional character) who would it be? Why?

Day 23: What do you want your life to look like in 5 years?

Day 24: Reflect on your core values. How can you further align your life with these values?

Day 25: How can you be the change you would like to see in the world?

Day 26: Write down 3 daily affirmations you feel would benefit you at this current time in your life.

Day 27: What is your main goal right now? List 3-5 things you can do to work towards achieving this.

Day 28: What does the daily routine of your dream self look like?

Day 29: List 3 daily habits that align you with your goals.

Day 30: What did you learn from this journal challenge? Reflect on your discoveries, thoughts and feelings.
