I love journals! Over the years, I have kept a *lot* of them. Gratitude journals, manifestation journals, random brain-dump journals, journals for poetry and writing pieces, you name it!
One of my all-time favourite things is the feeling of getting a brand new journal with a pretty cover, and bonus points for the cute designated new stationary (iykyk).
What is a journal?
There are many different kinds of journals out there with different uses, interiors and designs!
A journal is a book (usually a notebook) dedicated to some form of writing.
Some people may have one journal dedicated to one specific purpose such as a scripting manifestation journal or a shadow work journal whereas others may use their journal for multiple purposes such as using it as a diary, a gratitude journal and also using prompts designed for journaling.
Nowadays, there are a wide variety of journals to choose from.
To start, there is a trusty lined notebook (You can’t go wrong) and also blank journals, which are great if you like to get creative with your interior.
There are also a lot of journals with printed interiors that have designs including infographics, daily check-ins and of course, prompts.
What are the benefits of journaling?
Depending on your journaling practice, there are a range of positive benefits! It is a great outlet to have which contributes to better mental health.
Not only can you turn the practice of writing in a journal into a daily self-care ritual, it is a healthy habit to form which if you enjoy it, is a positive and wonderful thing to engage in daily.
