The herbs we will be discussing today have a fantastic range of magickal properties, including self love, healing and courage.
I find these herbs for self love to be beautifully ideal when used in workings that are focused around encouraging healing and moving forward with confidence, ease and of course self love.
Some simple examples of how you could use each herb in a self love ritual are included for a little inspiration, as well as the links to each herb if you’d like to check them out!
6 herbs for self love
Cinnamon
Commonly used in attracting love, cinnamon can also be used to promote healing.
Available in powder form, sticks and even oils – it has a gorgeous aroma making it quite a popular choice for simmer pots and essential oil diffusing.

A simple way to use cinnamon for self love:
Carve a sigil of your choice into a pink candle and dress it with cinnamon powder before lighting it to call in healing and self love. (Remember to practice fire safety!🔥)
Thyme
Thyme is an aromatic herb that is part of the mint family (lamiaceae) and in the kitchen it is commonly paired with other herbs such as rosemary or even sage.
In witchcraft, its properties include courage, healing and purification.

Sprinkle some dried thyme to promote courage into a self love spell jar alongside your preferred tools/herbs.
Rose
Definitely one of the popular herbs for self love!

Allspice

One hack I’ve been loving is purchasing it fresh from the supermarket for recipes and popping what is leftover in my dehydrator to use in spell work. Of course, you can hang it to dry too!

Dress a pink candle with basil and lavender to promote harmony, peace and self love. Alternatively, you could sprinkle the herbs around the candle. (Remember to use a fireproof tray, especially when using herbs.)
